Unsolicited Manuscripts and Literary Journals

Recently on my twitter, I said that I submitted manuscripts. Here’s the dirty details.

Story Title: Finding Friendship Amid Unrequited Desire
Length: 4,900 words
Sent: August 10, 2010
Where: Salt Hill and The Journal (more to come as well)

I really, really want this story to be published. Why? Well, publication makes me and my work ‘legitimate’ and some pastime. Another reason, it will make my MFA application stronger. So I’ve chose several literary journals that accept simultaneous submissions (multiple submissions) and have a high turn around rate. This gives me the great chance of publication. I feel my piece was ready to leave the womb and make it along to the wider world.

Next up: sending off my as of yet untitled work.

I’ll let you all know how the publication goes!
